I'm just not that into you

After a decade at Microsoft, I recently left. This blog, however, is not a bitchfest about why I hate Microsoft. Because I don't. I worked with a lot of smart people (most a hell of a lot smarter than me), was part of shipping software that I am proud of, and had a comfortable life.
I eventually figured out (yes, it took me a few years, I'm slow. Like I said, not the sharpest knife in the drawer) that it wasn't working out. It was like being with someone because you are afraid to be alone. You stay because you are averse to risk, crave stability and are scared that you can't do better.
Well, I'm sorry, but I'm just not that into you any more. I can't die the death by risk aversion. I wish you all the luck in the world, because I have a lot of friends there.

If you are thinking of joining Microsoft, I suggest you read this minimsft post. (Ignore most of the comments on that blog, though. )

*phew*.

So, what then, is this about ? Mostly about 64-bit Windows software. I recently built an AMD Dual Core machine, and aim to write software for it and on it. This blog will document my experiences in that regard, as well as any other 64bit Windows issues I run into.

Or, it could just be another of the billion blogs with just one post.
